We read about Miranda in our local paper and were intrigued with her story. Based in Fremantle, WA, not only is she a milliner of tremendous talent and passion, whose hats have been featured at New York Fashion Week, but she also has a very strong belief in conducting her business in an ethical fashion. Her goal is to produce Australian designs in developing countries while at the same time empowering disadvantaged women in those countries by establishing sustainable, non-exploitive manufacturing workshops. To achieve this, Miranda has established The Lionheart Project, a not for profit charity which helps create long term employment opportunities that are non exploitive and life affirming.
So with the racing seaon coming up, don't feel guilty about buying a new hat, see Miranda Green instead. With online sales available, the hat you buy from her will become a treasured item in your wardrobe.

One Stop Health is a great new website, based in Perth. Its aim is to be a one stop professional online health and wellbeing resource for the West Australian community and beyond. Founder Janelle Repacholi's aim is for One Stop Health to not only serve as an online directory of resources but to strongly promote community networking and sustainable living practices.
So next time you are looking for goods, services or information relating to health or wellbeing, start your research at One Stop Health. With sections based on "Getyting Help", "Eating Well", "Being Active" and "Unwinding", you will no doubt find all the guidance you need.
http://www.babysitterdirectory.com.au/
We came across this great website which hooks up babysitters and
families looking for a babysitter - all for free!
Babysitterdirectory aims to connect parents with babysitters and
nannies across Australia.
Babysitterdirectory is not a childcare agency and they do
not screen babysitters, they just introduce parents to
babysitters and nannies that you otherwise might not meet and the
rest is up to you. If you are looking for occassional weekend
babysitting, regular afterschool care or a live in
nanny, Babysitterdirectory may be a lifesaver!
While there is no-one registered for our postcode yet who is
looking for baby sitting jobs, we plan to keep checking back! The
site has only been operating since May but there are already lots
of people who have posted their baby sitting services and requests,
as well as information on such issues as first aid
certificates, coping with returning to work and job interview
tips.
Check it out!

Everyone at mini eco is a real foodie - we love to cook new and interesting things. Like our love of quality children's products though, we only love using quality kitchen products. Our favourites are Le Creuset cookware (hasn't everybody got at least one piece?) and Wusthof knives (keep out of reach of children!!). A recent discovery is Calphalon cookware from the US. Forget those brands that everyone has, with all the hype that never lives up to the promise. Invest in these products, the number 1 seller in the US, and see and taste the difference. I don't need to wait until I go to a restaurant to have a gourmet meal, I can now do it myself! Visit Milner's website to find out more about these great products and to find a stockist near you.

If you want to get the honest low down on a hotel you are thinking of booking, wherever it is in the world, visit this website first. In our view it is an indispensable part of planning a holiday. I even cancelled a booking I had made after I read the reviews on the hotel (note to self - read reviews before booking hotel!) and it was a good move as friends who later stayed at that hotel confirmed it was terrible - quite possibly the worst hotel in the world! It is in Frankfurt, Germany so if you are ever going there, let me know and I'll tell you which one it is and also tell you the one you should stay at. The reviews said it was fab, and it was.

I came across these fantastic house shoes (ie slippers you wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen in!) and although they are not made from leather produced without the use of chemicals, they are so comfy and come in such a great range of colours that they are definitely worth a look. Luscious deep pinks, purples, red and greens as well as your basic dark colours (yes, that means black!), some even come with lambs wool lining to keep your feet extra toasty.
www.organix.com
This is the website of the organic baby food company operated by Lizzie Vann, the author of the Organic Baby & Toddler Cookbook featured by mini eco. This site is a wealth of information on healthy eating and nutrition and the benefits of choosing organic products. Containing recipes and meals plans, there is even a children's games area with cute farm related graphics.
